# Scheduled Maintenance – EU3.RIX Datacenter Expansion

UPDATE: Maintenance is completed. Minor issues will be resolved by our team and datacenter onsite staff within standard working hours.

We are expanding our **EU3.RIX** location and need more space and more rack power. For this reason, we have scheduled **maintenance and migration works in Riga between September 26 and September 30**.

During this time, we will deploy a new telecommunications infrastructure in our new datacenter, prepare the power distribution system, and carefully relocate our equipment to the new server rooms.

Since this involves physically moving servers, there will be a short and justified downtime. For the absolute majority of services, we **expect downtime to be no longer than 2-4 hours**. In rare cases it may take a bit longer, but rest assured – our team will closely monitor the process to bring your services online as quickly as possible.

We would like to inform you that our Seattle location US5.SEA will be migrated to a new datacenter. This migration is planned to take place between **10:00 AM (PDT) on August 28, 2024 and 7:00 PM (PDT) on August 30, 2024**. The corresponding times in UTC are 17:00 (UTC) on August 28, 2024 to 02:00 (UTC) on August 31, 2024.

During this maintenance window, your services will remain active for the majority of the time. However, please note that there will be a brief period — **up to 4 hours** — when your services **may be temporarily unavailable** as we transport equipment to the new location.

The migration is part of our strategic decision to improve the reliability and scalability of our infrastructure following a recent SEA datacenter provider outage. By moving to a new physical location, we aim to secure better network options, a more stable electricity budget, and the ability to expand our network peering links in the future. Additionally, we will be upgrading our network hardware to ensure we meet both current and future requirements for scalability and reliability.

As part of this migration and maintenance, we will also deploy more dedicated server platforms to accommodate increasing customer demand for cost-effective, high-performance SSD and NVMe servers, particularly on the West Coast.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our support team.

Починаючи з 5:00 EET 24 лютого, центри обробки даних UA1 та UA2 надають послуги «як є», без гарантій доступності сервісу та безпеки даних.
We are doing a major vm1-kha (UA1.KHA) infrastructure update with hardware and hypervisor upgrade. During this maintenance, virtual machines with legacy "CLASSIC VDS" plans will be migrated to new hypervisor infrastructure.

Unfortunately, due to migration between hypervisors, virtual machines will be moved in "offline" mode, i.e. we will carefully turn off virtual server, move it to new hypervistor and then turn it on again. We expect each virtual server to be migrated within 10-15 minutes. These works will be carried out from 18 to 22 October, 2021. No action or participation is required from users.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. At the same time, such migration is necessary for reliable and trouble-free operation in the future.

For users who have questions or suggestions on this issue, we recommend contacting our technical support.

#### This is advance notice of a planned maintenance at EU1.AMS location

> Location = SDC1, Dronten, NL

> Service Type = Room divider maintenance, A-feed Room 3

##### Start: 14.12.2018 00:00 CET
##### End: 14.12.2018 02:00 CET
##### Duration: 1 -2 hours
##### Services affected: we have only one rack in Room 3, only small amount of dedicated servers can be rebooted during this maintenance. Our support team will contact owners of dedicated servers with details and recommendations.

This maintenance time has been chosen with the reason that the average European and international users will be minimally affected.

During this maintenance the power redundancy in your rack will be disabled, the a-feed divider will be connected to the new main power divider C. During this maintenance your primary B power feed will not be affected. In the same time we will combine this maintenance with a planned event (circuit breaker test and service) for next year, this will prevent a new maintenance window in 2019

Please make sure that single connected devices on the A-feed pdu are gracefully shut down or powered off before this maintenance window.
If you want to make sure that hardware such as your switches or routers will stay online during the maintenance, please contact support to double check if these devices are connected to the B-Feed.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this might cause. Please contact our support team for more information.

EU1.AMS core router farm outage at our IP transit provider (Serveruis). Onsite staff working on this issue.

** UPDATE **
Connectivity restored, no BGP flapping or packet loss, all metrics back to normal.

** UPDATE FROM DC NOC **
Service interruption: Some client in SDC2, Meppel had an interruption with a network connection.

Reason: Defective hardware of one of our customers was connected to Serverius network.

When the problem started our monitoring systems didn’t show us any abnormal information like volume or anomaly traffic. Even the Syslog system didn’t give us any clear information about root reason of the problem. To fix the problem we tried to restart Cisco router but after the restart, the same problems came back. Therefore all customer’s connections were disabled on the affected routers and we enabled them one by one until we found the uplinks which caused all problems. After a while, it was found and disconnected.

We are investigating which kind of abnormal traffic was generated, why the CPU on both Cisco routers was affected and how we can avoid this kind of problem in the future.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

We just received notice from Serverius team for upcoming maintenance for transit network.

Start: **2017-07-12 22:00:00 CEST**

End: **2017-07-12 23:00:00 CEST**

**Reason:** This year we were faced with a lot of maintenances at the fiber network in the Netherlands. During those maintenances our L2 transport service was affected and our clients had outages. Also, the total amount of traffic in our Transport network is always increasing, just like the expectations of our clients to this service. To avoid the outages in the future with relation to planned or emergency maintenances of our fiber suppliers, and to increase the amount of ports and total capacity, we have built a totally new Transport network. This network is based on the newest Huawei CloudEngine hardware and has fully redundant fiber channels. It's done like fully redundant and fully independent of main Serverius IP transit network.

**Expected Outage:** At this step of the implementation, we should migrate all existing L2 vlans connections between SDC1 and SDC2 to the new Transport network. Expected outage is **up to 30 seconds** for reconnections.

You are receiving this message as an advance notice because our dark fiber suppliers “Relined” will do maintenances. This is last, 3rd maintenance window for fiber optics maintenance.

Location = Zwolle, NL
Service Type = Dark fiber

Start: 2017-02-08 00:00:00 UTC

End: 2017-02-08 06:00:00 UTC

Total expected duration: from few minutes to two hours.

Reason: Precautionary maintenance.
This work represents precautionary maintenance, Relined is obliged to carry out this work to maintain the quality of our fiber network.
This activity will impact the SDC1<->AMS-NIKHEF and DC1<->DC2 fiber.

Expected Outage: When during the maintenance window both fibers will be affected exactly at the same time, partial downtime to some internet routes could be possible. We asked Relined to do the maintenance fiber by fiber, they promised to try, but unfortunately no guarantee could be given.

We will add today additional uplink at DC2 and will route part of affected networks to another uplinks. This upgrade will minimize impact to our customers, but we unable to guarantee that all services will be available during this maintenance window.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this might cause. Please contact our support team in case of any inquires.
